Foodbank operates every second week from the modular site at 297 Savard Avenue, Vanier. On the week that we are open (please check out our calendar below) the hours are as follows:
Monday – 4-7pm – For families with children under 18 only
Tuesday – 1-3pm – Elders 55+
Wednesday – 1-3pm – General Community
Thursday – 1-3pm – General Community
Our food security programming is funded to serve Inuit and their families. Please be aware that we will be limiting our services to only Inuit and their direct family members. If you require food support and you are not a community member, please visit 211ontario.ca or dial 211 to find your nearest foodbank.
Our food security services are available to all Inuit community members – We distribute fresh fruit and vegetables, meats, dairy, pantry items, hygiene products, baby products and country food when available. Our services are offered at no cost, and you can just drop in during our open hours.
We are aware that the need for food security has risen dramatically since the pandemic due to the cost of food increasing regularly. We continue to see more and more need within the community. For this reason, the Food Crew requires time to make sure that the foodbank is restocked and prepared for each week we are open. We ask that you only access the foodbank during the regular open hours so we can dedicate the other hours to making sure that we can offer a wide selection of delicious food every two weeks!
